crime (krym) n. [ME < OFr. < Lat. crimen] 1. An act commited or omitted
in violation of a law forbidding or commanding it and for which

condition. 5. informal: A regrettable fact: SHAME.
cyúberúcrime (sy'buhrúkrym) n. [< QR der. mindúcrime] 1. The ultimate,
coexisting union of all phases of the computer underground - Artwork,
Hack/Phreak, and Software Piracy. 2. The highest quality underground
network in existance, which forms the basis for definition number
one. 3. adj: Computer crime, and/or unlawful activity committed
through use of electronic or computer hardware.
INFORMATION:
þ 37 Message bases, strictly defined to adhere to the tenet of this
network: No fluff - No bullshit - Pure underground discussion.
þ Yes, CyberCrime is back! Loosely based on the CyberCrime International
Network (CCiNet) of the late eighties and early nineties, the new
CyberCrime is THE underground network for today. With an extremely
strict application process, requiring references and reviewing all
aspects of security, and tough, continuing moderation, you can be
assured of an extremely high quality forum for discussions.
þ To apply, fill out the enclosed application, and return it to:
The Information Interchange, CyberCrime World Headquarters, at 305-
792-9622 (28.8) or 305-584-7002 (16.8). Send it via netmail to
Fido address 1:369/23, CyberCrime 66:100/0, InfiNet 69:100/0, the
internet Midnight.Sorrow@369-23.Sunshine.Com, or simply login as
new, and upload the CyberCrime application to the uploads filebase.
REQUIREMENTS FOR JOINING:
þ Your BBS must be an underground system, focused partly or wholly
on one or all of these topics: Piracy (Wares), Hack/Phreak Topics,
or Computer Artwork (ANSi/VGA/Demos).
þ You must provide at least one reference of a current CyberCrime
sysop who is willing to sponsor you. Failure to provide a valid
reference will result in denial for all but THE most outstanding
and incredible systems.
þ ALL system operators in CyberCrime must be at least 18 years of age,
and have had their BBS in operation for at least one year. While
this isn't a guarantee of maturity, this at least develops a
guideline to show that we are at least trying. :)

Thank you for applying for the CyberCrime International Network.
This procedure is quite simple. All you need to do is fill out the following
application, and upload it to The Information Interchange, CyberCrime WHQ,
at 3O5ú792ú9622. Midnight Sorrow will then review your application, and, if
accepted, will add you into the nodelist and crashmail you your information.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MAILER ONLINE 24 HOURS, TELL US IN THIS APPLICATION!
Otherwise, your node will be deleted shortly after we encounter no mailer.
(Note: You MAY get a call to verify your identity, and evaluate the quality
of your system. If you do not validate this caller, for any reason, your
application will be instantly discarded.)
However, please note that this application process is EXTREMELY selective. NO
sysops under 18 will be accepted. If your board hasn't been up at least a
year, you will likely not be accepted. If you do not have at least ONE
reference of a current CyberCrime sysop, you will likely not be accepted.
So be CERTAIN you fill out the ENTIRE infoform to the absolute best of your
ability.
Thank You,
Midnight Sorrow [CCi Coordinator]

CyberCrime International Network
Network Rules and Regulations
The ONLY rules of the network are as follows:
1) DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THE CYBERCRIME NODELISTS (CCI-NODE.###)! Due to
the range of topics contained within CyberCrime, security is quite
obviously an issue. You MAY spread the CCi-##.ZIP packs around,
though be careful with those as well. However, we do NOT want copies
of the nodelist being spread ANYWHERE but to current CyberCrime
members. As far as pack distribution - don't send it EVERYWHERE.
Upload or crashmail it only to highest-quality underground systems.
What their orientation is, doesn't matter. The only requirement is
that any applicants MUST be known by at least one other CyberCrime
sysop. This way, security will be maintained, yet the network will
still enjoy a decent level of awareness throughout the underground.
2) Quality is the #1 issue in this network. Oneliners, flames, etc, are
NOT tolerated under ANY circumstances. Users posting any trash in
this network will be warned once, then removed. Three warnings against
users on your system will spell your system's permanent removal from
CyberCrime. Period.
That's all. However, be warned that I reserve the right to remove your system
from CyberCrime INSTANTLY, on any moment's notice, for any reason whatsoever.
Do NOT cross me. However, do not expect to be kicked out the network just for
saying "Fuck off, Mitch." It'll take a BIT more than that. :)

To apply for CyberCrime, fill out the enclosed app, CCI-NET.APP and return
it to The Information Interchange, CyberCrime World H.Q., at 305-792-9622.
Questions? Comments? Compliments? Insults? Any of these, and more, may
be traded with Midnight Sorrow, the CyberCrime Coordinator. Feel free to
contact him by any means preferable: Netmail via FidoNet (1:369/23) or
CyberCrime (66:100/0). Voice Call at 305-584-6397. Fax at 305-639-2810.
The Information Interchange at 305-792-9622 (28.8) or 305-584-7002 (16.8).

These are they... There have been quite a few bases removed in the past few

months, and Rob's Roost has been TOTALLY out of contact with InfiNet since

May or so, so I wouldn't be surprised if you still had a lot of the wares

bases and such still connected... cheggitout:

þ No offence - but I do not trust anyone with my full info. Not even

þ Paradigm was not invited into CyberCrime. He would be an excellent
þ candidate -- he is a friend of mine and we network messages back and
þ forth between our boards. He runs The Protected Mode in Seattle.
þ Paradigm's users tend to be intelligent and are mostly programmers.

The Conscience of a Hacker... by The Mentor ... 1/8/86
Another one got caught today, It's all over the papers.
"Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker arrested
after Bank Tampering"...
Damn kids. They're all alike.
But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's
technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of a hacker? did
you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what
may have molded him?
I am a hacker. Enter my world.
Mine is a world that begins with school... I'm smarter than
most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me...
Come on... Ain't Got All Day!!
Damn underachiever. They're all alike.
I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to the
teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a
fraction. I understand it. "No Ms. Smith, I didn't show my work.
I did it in my head..."
Damn kid. Probably copied it. They're all alike.
I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a xecond,
this is cool. It does what I want it to. if it makes a mistake,
it's because I screwed it up. Not Because it doesn't like me...
Or feels threatend by me...
Or thinks I'm a smart ass...
Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here...
Damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike.
And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing
through the phone line like junk through an addict's veins, an
electronic impulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day
incompetencies is sought... a board is found.
"this is it... this is wwhere I belong..."
I know everyone herre... even if I've never met them, never
talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you
all...
Damn kid. tying up the phone line again. They're all alike...
Come on... Ain't Got All Day!!
You bet your ass we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby
food at school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat
that you did let slip through were prechewed and tasteless.
We've been dominated by sadist, or ignored by the apathetic. The
few that had something to teach us found us willing pupils, but
those few are like drops of water in the desert.
This is our world now... the world of the electron and the
switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already
existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it
wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals.
we explore... and you call us criminals. We seek after
knoledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin
color, without nationality, without religous bias... and you
call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you
murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for
our own good, yet we're the criminals.
Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime
is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what
they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something
that you will never forgive me for.
Come on... Ain't Got All Day!!
I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this
individual, but you can't stop us all... after all, we're all alike.

One of the hardest events at Defcon to get into is the Telephreak party.
It's very difficult to get an invitation.
We think our guest list has become too elitist, so this year, we created a
challenge with puzzles and hacks and fun which reserves at least 10% of our
invitations for hackers who successfully complete the challenge. As you may
have guessed we are taking it back to the oldschool, to the very earliest
days of DEF CON. We have created a world resembling the underground world
that existed before the Internet, in the days where people quietly handed
you floppy disks with k-rad elite zero day warez.
You are at the front door. Will you make it to the end of the corridor?
If you do, there will be food, water, and some drinks, POCSAG Telephreak
Pager Network, party swag, and the smartest people from Blackhat & DEFCON,
bringing their toughest problems to discuss.
